Carboxytherapy is a cosmetic procedure involving the controlled administration of medical carbon dioxide by intra- and subcutaneous injections. Subcutaneous injection of carbon dioxide causes an improvement of local blood circulation in tissues and improve skin elasticity, as well as contribute to the reduction of fatty tissue at the injection site. The main indications for its use are stretch marks, cellulite and slack skin. The aim of this paper was to assess the effects of carboxytherapy treatments on abdominal stretch marks in a woman aged 29 years. After a series of treatments, there was a noticeable decrease in the visibility of stretch marks, as well as an improvement of the abdominal skin elasticity.
